Richard Kinsey
A native of Los Angeles with a BA in Philosophy, who has lived and performed all over the world, Richard is probably best known for his award-winning performance of Javert in Les Misérables on Broadway as well as numerous other stage productions, concerts, and film work. His involvement in the performing arts is reflected in his visual art, too. After all, “the canvas or drawing pad is a stage with performers as well.”
Richard’s award-winning paintings have been exhibited in many shows and galleries, utilized in fund raisers, and are in collections both nationally and internationally. He is also a published illustrator, having illustrated six books – five of which are children’s books. The most recent, The Alphabet Grand Prix by Andy Cox was published in 2022 and is enjoying great popularity.
Some other published titles include: Mr. Prickle Bear by Diane King Vann, Lucky by Craig Inglis, Meditation Made Easy by Lorin Roche, and Camilions by William Ash. Children's books soon to be published include: Purple Burple by poet Judith Deem DuPree and several other top-secret projects that are in the works as well!
Richard was also under contract with Paramount/Viacom for several years as a character creator and he is currently working with Eden Films in the UK on up-coming projects that will be released in the near future.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy fueling his creativity and critical thinking, Richard resides in Southern California with his amazing wife, daughter and two adorable, albeit very naughty canines who have PhDs in Quantum Physics and bone tossing.
